Patience in “All American”
In The CW’s drama “All American,” Chelsea Tavares plays Patience, a student at South Crenshaw and ride-or-die girlfriend to Coop (Bre-Z). She lives her life out loud and unapologetically. A musician whose star is on the rise, she has to fight to do her music, her way. But her need to constantly protect those she loves, no matter the price, could end up costing her everything.
Born in Panorama City, Los Angeles, CA, Tavares is of Cape Verdean descent and has been a working actress for most of her life. Tavares first broke out on “Unfabulous” and “Just Jordan.” Other previous credits include “SMILF,” “Lethal Weapon,” “Make It or Break It,” “Ringer,” “Bones,” “The Middle” and the DreamWorks feature film “Fright Night.”
Tavares recurs on the current season of “Animal Kingdom.” Her recent credits include playing Nora in the long-anticipated video game “The Last of Us Part II” and a six-episode recurring arc on “Queen of the South” as Birdie.
She also starred in the indie feature “Solace,” which premiered at the LA Film Festival 2018 and won the Muse Award for Best Ensemble Cast. The film was directed by Tchaiko Omawale and was also a recipient of the Tribeca All-Access Grant toward financing.
