THE CW'S "FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN" CLIMBS TO NEW SEASON HIGHS IN VIEWERS AND KEY DEMOS

The CW Wins Friday in Men 18-34 and Teens,

Places Second with Men 18-49  

            October 23, 2006 (Burbank, CA) - "Friday Night SmackDown" climbed to its largest audience on The CW in key demos, including adults 18-34 (1.6/6-tie), men 18-34 (2.0/9-tie), adults 18-49 (1.5/5), men 18-49 (2.1/7), teens (2.7/12) and viewers (4.7mil), according to Live Plus Same Day Nielsen ratings for Oct. 20. 

            "SmackDown" won Friday for The CW among men 18-34 and teens.  The CW ranked second on the night among men 18-49 (2.1/7).

            "SmackDown" scored week-to-week gains in key demos, including 7% in adults 18-34, 5% in men 18-34, 7% in adults 18-49, 17% in men 18-49, 80% in teens and 22% in viewers.

            Compared to its performance on UPN a year ago, "SmackDown" improved by 7% in adults 18-49, 5% in men 18-49, 29% in teens and 14% in viewers.

            "SmackDown" delivered double- and triple-digit increases over the WB's Friday last year by 45% in adults 18-34, 233% in men 18-34, 36% in adults 18-49, 163% in men 18-49, 238% in teens and 86% in viewers.
