ABOUT INSIDE EDITION
On September 9, 2019, CBS Television Distribution's INSIDE EDITION begins its 32nd season as the nation’s #1 syndicated newsmagazine, building upon a successful season in which the show made headlines, received industry accolades and, once again, ranked in the top 10 first-run syndicated programs. INSIDE EDITION reaches a daily audience of approximately 5 million viewers, while its digital news network delivers approximately 415 million video views per month. On YouTube, INSIDE EDITION has more than 6 million subscribers and more than 7 billion lifetime views.
Anchored by veteran newswoman Deborah Norville since 1995, and backed by a dedicated staff of correspondents and producers, the daily newsmagazine has built its enduring success by presenting a compelling mix of hard-hitting investigations, exclusive newsmaker interviews and incisive human-interest stories, as well as celebrity and pop culture features.
Norville is a two-time Emmy® Award winner actively involved in all aspects of the broadcast. In 2016, Norville, the longest serving anchor on American television, was inducted in the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame. Working with her is an experienced team of broadcast journalists, overseen by Executive Producer Charles Lachman, with Co-Executive Producer Esther Pessin, Senior Producer Brian Hendel, West Coast Bureau Chief Tony Coghlan and Senior Investigative Producer and Managing Editor Bob Read.
One of INSIDE EDITION’s best-known elements is its award-winning Investigative Unit. Their work combines extensive research and surveillance, as well as hard-hitting interviews. In 2018, an INSIDE EDITION investigation exposed children as young as 6 years old working at factory and farm settings at a business operated by the religious sect, Twelve Tribes. The report prompted the Department of Labor to open an investigation which found multiple child labor violations against Twelve Tribes in New York State. The piece was honored with a Clarion Award and was a Deadline Club Award finalist. In 2019, INSIDE EDITION also won a Clarion Award for its “Smash and Grab” investigation, which caught car thieves red-handed in San Francisco.
In 2018, INSIDE EDITION won a first place and best in show National Headliner Award for its “Liars for Hire,” report, which found actors available for hire to tape video testimonials pretending to be doctors, lawyers, and other professionals in order to promote various products or services. In addition, the show won two Clarion Awards – one for an investigation which found disturbing allegations by women who say there were sexually assaulted by their massage therapist and another for its report that tested the accuracy of at-home DNA tests. The newsmagazine also received Daytime Emmy nominations in 2019 and 2017 for Outstanding Entertainment News Program, as well as a 2019 Critics’ Choice Real TV Award nomination for Entertainment News Show.
The work of the INSIDE EDITION team has also resulted in numerous other awards for journalistic excellence unmatched by any other syndicated newsmagazine program. The awards include The George Polk, Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi, National Press Club, National Headliner, Investigative Reporters and Editors, Exceptional Merits in Media Awards, Overseas Press Club, National Association of Consumer Agency Administrators, Fund for Animals, American Women in Radio and Television and National Women's Political Caucus. For its riveting coverage of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, INSIDE EDITION was honored with a National Press Club Award, National Headliner Award, Deadline Club Award and Clarion Award, and was nominated for a National News Emmy.
INSIDE EDITION's Chief Correspondent Jim Moret is in constant demand for his legal and reporting expertise. He has been interviewed by various broadcast news outlets numerous times regarding his perspective on notable pop culture personalities including Stormy Daniels, OJ Simpson, and Michael Jackson.
In addition to Moret, other members of the INSIDE EDITION team include correspondents Diane McInerney, Les Trent, Megan Alexander, Lisa Guerrero, Victoria Recano, Steven Fabian and Ann Mercogliano. McInerney is also the anchor of INSIDE EDITION WEEKEND. Guerrero is Chief Investigative Correspondent.
INSIDE EDITION premiered on Jan. 9, 1989, when the syndicated newsmagazine genre was at its peak. It holds the distinction of being the only series among the original group that has remained on the air continually since then, and, as its ratings have proven, it continues to thrive.
INSIDE EDITION is produced daily by INSIDE EDITION Inc. and distributed by CBS Television Distribution.
